A Little Insight: THIRSTINESS

So I generally DON’T give advice. My friends/associates tell me about their situations and I give them INSIGHT, but never ADVICE. I love to hear about people’s lives and loves (as long as it’s interesting) because everyone has a story to be told and everyone deserves to be heard. Scratch that…interesting people deserve to be heard. Boring people should keep a personal journal.
So tonight I’m gonna give you guys a little INSIGHT

THIRSTINESS

In our world it’s difficult to find a nigga that’s worth anything. (Sorry for the harshness, but let’s keep it real ;)) Most of the dudes in our community are after ONE thing. Everyone wants to fuck like a porn star, and with news of an AIDS cure/vaccine I’m sure the fuckeriness (yes I made up a word) will continue to rise. So when we find a dude that seems like he has a good head on his shoulders, we want to do everything that we can to hold his interest for longer than 10 seconds. This is where THIRSTINESS comes into play.

There is a very fine line between making time to get to know someone and appearing to be totally THIRSTY. Let’s define the term before we go any further:
THIRSTY: The act of being all up on a niggas DICK; calling/texting every 5 minutes; stalking him on facebook/myspace/twitter; making yourself look like a total JACKASS.
The definition pretty much speaks for itself. Thirsty dudes are ALL UP on the dick…every 5 minutes calling or texting

“Hey”

“How are you”

“What’s up”

I understand you want to get to know this person but GOT DAMN let a nigga breathe! Now this may be a hard pill for some to swallow. Hell it was a tough lesson for me to learn because when I feel myself LIKING someone I tend to put ALL of my ENERGY into this one person without realizing that there is plenty of DICK in the sea. Besides, just because you’re giving him all of YOUR energy doesn’t mean he’s doing the same for YOU. So that’s a good thought to keep in mind…I believe the old folks say don’t throw all your EGGS in one BASKET. Well the same concept applies to this situation. I’ve learned that sometimes it’s best to fall back and take it one day at a time. You don’t wanna seem TOO interested, but you don’t wanna seem like you don’t care either. You have to find that perfect BALANCE. YA DIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!???

  1. Great read - the worst are the guys who INSIST on re-sending the same text if you do not respond...um there is a reason why i did respond the first time. Fall Back. Trust.

  2. I think at the same time we (us) need to stop acting like we're too good to pick up the phone or text someone back. I understand that everyone has an ego and everyone wants to keep their options open but being cute also doesn't give you the ability to have your head all blown up. I've experienced both ends of being "thirsty" and I'll put it to you like this, that dude thats ignoring text messages or voicemails is going to be single, look at his phone one day and realize nobodys texting or calling anymore because he thought he was "too good" and wanted to play play play. How about we stop playing games periods. Not everybody is thirsty and at the same time not everybody wants to feel like they're being played either. feel me?
