Saints & Sinners pt. IV: Consequences

REVEREND ALVIN JOHNSON

Reverend Johnson was tired of living a double life. He was tired of preaching in the pulpit every Sunday and running a notorious drug ring during the week. Nobody suspected Reverend Johnson of investing the churches money in his drug operationn, but that is exactly what he was doing. He was funding his operations with the Lords money. Sometimes he felt guilty about his actions, but he was also a greedy man. The money and the power had turned a once God-fearing Christian into a monster.

Reverend Johnson couldn’t continue on his path. He felt that it was finally time to make a decision. He knew that he couldn’t keep lying to his congregation, and he couldn’t keep dealing on the streets. His decision wouldn’t be easy. He has people depending on him: his family, his congregation, and his dealers. 

He wanted to do the right thing, but the money and the power were holding him back. He couldn’t stand the fact that he was poisoning the very community that he should have been trying to heal. His conscience was starting to get to him. He couldn’t continue dealing drugs, but he couldn’t stop either. He was at a dangerous crossroad, and he had to make a decision before it was too late.

SHERITA JOHNSON

She stared at the pregnancy test in shock. How could this happen? She was always so careful and used protection EVERYTIME she had sex. Maybe it was a mistake, she thought, as she waited on the results of a second pregnancy test. She wasn’t prepared for another child. She wasn’t even sure who the father was. 

BUZZ

She jumped as the timer buzzed, notifying her that the test was ready. She looked at the second test, and it was positive. She was pregnant with a baby and didn’t know the father. She thought about the shame this would bring to her family, her church, and her community and she fell to the floor and started crying.

ALVIN JOHNSON JR

AJ walked slowly to the locker room after a long, greuling practice. He was tired, sweaty, and horny. He turned the water on and stood under the jets. The hot water felt good against his body. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the water and steam.

Suddenly he felt someone standing behind him. He turned around and saw Derrian jacking off.

“What the fuck you doin?”

“I’m horny” Derrian said as he glanced at AJ’s rock hard dick.

“And it looks like you are too...”

Derrian fell to his knees and put AJ’s hard erection in his mouth. AJ resisted and pulled away.

“What you doin? We’re gonna get caught!”

AJ didn’t want to get caught with his dick in another mans mouth and ruin his reputation.

AJ and Derrian finished showering and left the locker room. They headed to AJ’s dorm for round two.

KEISHA JOHNSON

“What’s wrong?” Keisha asked.

“Ms. Johnson, apparently you are pregnant. We are unable to give you this shot because it might be harmful for your baby.”

Keisha couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She couldn’t be pregnant. No way...

“Are you sure?” she asked.

“I’m positive. And I will need to inform your parents. They will have to take you to the hospital so you can get the care that you need. We can’t do that here at the Free Clinic.”

“No...no. I can’t tell my parents about this! I just can’t...no! I can’t!”

“Unfortunately we don’t have a choice. It’s the law.”

“Is there another way?”

The doctor looked at Keisha with pity in her eyes. She felt sorry for her, but there was nothing that she could do. 

“I’ll be right back”

The doctor left and Keisha began crying.

Saints & Sinners, pt. 3: Unholy Children

ALVIN JOHNSON JR

Alvin Johnson didn’t hear his cell phone ringing. All he heard was the sound of his headboard banging against the wall of his dorm room and the loud moans of his lover.

TAP TAP TAP TAP TAP

“You like this dick?”

“Yes daddy...YES!!!”

The fuck session continued for about thirty minutes before AJ climaxed and collapsed on the bed next to his lover.

“Damn...when Coach Thomas said we should bond, this isn’t what I had in mind” AJ said to his teammate/lover. Darien Thompson was the teams starting point guard, and one of the best players. He was determined to enter the NBA draft. 

“You have a powerful weapon...keep it up” Darien said as he grabbed AJ’s thick 10 inch manhood. 

AJ looked at his phone as Darien showered. He missed three calls and two text messages from his father. He wondered what was wrong...his father only sent text messages when there was an emergency. He tossed the phone on the bed and buried his head in his hands.

“What’s wrong?” Darien asked.

“Nothing...I’m fine.”

AJ didn’t want to focus on his fathers issues right now. He wanted to focus on school, basketball, and fucking as many boys as he could. AJ loved church and basketball, but he loved dick and ass even more. He’s not able to mess around at home because of his ‘churchboy’ status, so he has a little extra fun while he’s away at college. Darien is his ‘boyfriend’ but they are in an open relationship.

“You sure you ok bae?”

He wasn’t ok, but he didn’t want to talk about it.

“I’m fine D”

He kissed Darien on the lips and walked him to the door.

“See you at practice”

AJ slapped Darien on the ass as he walked out of the room. He laid down on the bed and thought about his issues. He was starting to get serious feelings for Darien, but he knew that their relationship would never be accepted. He thought about his father. He knew his father had secrets, but he was tired of being caught in the middle. His father was always calling him when he needed an alibi, and he couldn’t deal with it anymore.

His phone rang...it was his father.

He pushed the ‘IGNORE’ button and rolled over and fell asleep.

KEISHA JOHNSON

Everyone thought Keisha was a good girl. She was always home before curfew, always said ‘yes sir and no maam’, and she always gave a helping hand and a kind word to anyone that needed it. Keisha Johnson, the pastors 16 year old daughter, is the last person you would expect to see at the free clinic.

“I can’t believe this! My parents are going to kill me!” Keisha said to her best friend Shantrell as they waited for the doctor to return with her test results.

“Girl, it’s ok. They won’t find out...how did this happen?”

“I don’t know...I’m scared. I hope this goes away!!”

Keisha was messing around with Adam, a 21 year old college student, and she caught gonorrhea. This was her second time catching the disease. She was using birth control pills, and didn’t feel that it was necessary to use protection when having sex.

“Girl you need to stop having raw sex with that boy! Aint no telling what he got!”

“But I love him!”

“And what are you gonna do if your parents find out that you’re dating a 21 year old white boy?”

“Girl I don’t know...I’m just gonna keep playing this ‘preacher girl’ act and hope that they don’t find out a damn thing!”

“You better do something! Because I can’t keep coming with you to these free clinics in the middle of nowhere!”

Keisha knew that her actions were wrong, but she couldn’t help it.

She met Adam one day after school. He was picking up his sister from cheerleading practice. They exchanged numbers, then started texting and talking on the phone every night. They went on their first date a week later, then a second date, then a third date. Then they started having sex. At first they were using protection, but he convinced her to stop using condoms.

“I can’t date a white boy...I heard they have small dicks”

“Girl that’s NOT true...Adam is packin!”

She held her hands up about 9 inches apart

“Like that!?”

“Yes!”

Suddenly, the doctor rushed back into the exam room.

“Ms. Johnson, we have a problem”

Saints & Sinners pt 2 (Two Wrongs...)

SHERITA JOHNSON

Sunday, 1pm

Reverend Johnson has just finished a sermon entitled Faith During Times of Turmoil. It was a powerful message and brought many members of the congregation to tears. A few members of the church gathered after the ceremony.

“Hmph. I don’t like this new pastor. I don’t trust him.” said one of the older ladies

“And I aint one to gossip, but I heard his wife is a straight up hoe. She done been with Deacon Thomas.” said another.

They grew silent as the First Lady approached them.

“How are you, Ms. Johnson? That’s a lovely dress you’re wearing!”

“Thank you. Did you enjoy the sermon?”

“Yes, it was lovely”

Sherita Johnson left the ladies and mingled with other members of the church as she left. She could feel their eyes burning a hole into her back. She tried to keep her affairs private, but that was nearly impossible at a small church in a small town. She knew that word was spreading about her affair with Deacon Thomas and other members of the community and she had to find a way to keep her husband from finding out. She contemplated leaving him but she knew that it wouldn’t be right. He had a reputation. He was perceived as a devoted father and a loving husband, so divorce was not an option. She wondered what would happen if he found out about her infidelity.

Sherita always tried to be faithful but her husband was always gone. She needed someone to hold her, even if it was only for a moment. At first she felt bad about cheating on her husband but as time went on she didn’t care. Apparently her husband didn’t care either, because he pretended that everything in their marriage was fine. She arrived home to an empty house 15 minutes later. Her husband was still at the church and her children were with friends. She thought about calling Deacon Thomas, but decided against it. She began preparing dinner for her family when her husband called.

“Hello?”

“I’m not going to make it to dinner tonight. I have to go to Atlanta for a conference. I’m sorry”

“Why didn’t I know about this? It’s not on your calendar...”

“I’m sorry. It’s a last minute trip. I love you”

She stood over the sink holding back tears. She didn’t want to continue cheating on her husband but she needed someone to make her feel better. She was tired of being neglected and lied to by her husband. She wanted someone that cared for her. She called Deacon Thomas and they arranged to meet at a nearby hotel.

REVEREND JOHNSON

He was tired of lying to his wife. He knew that his secret would eventually be revealed and he thought about telling his wife the truth. They have been married for over 20 years and she still wasn’t aware of his double life. She didn’t know about his dark secret.

It’s a secret that he’s ashamed of. It’s a secret that would devastate his wife and ruin his career. He stopped at a local payphone...

“Yeah, I’ll be there later tonight. Have it ready when I get there”

He couldn’t keep lying to his wife. His double life had to end, one way or another.

Saints & Sinners pt 1 (Meet the Family)

INTRO

Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1894. It is one of the oldest and most respected churches in the small town of Rockville, North Carolina. The church has a rich history of providing food, shelter, and counseling to those that need it. Mount Pleasant was a strong player in the Civil Rights movement and organized protests, marches, and sit ins throughout North Carolina.

The church is led by Reverend Alvin Johnson, a 44 year old minister from Atlanta that was brought to the church last year after the death of the old pastor. Many members of the congregation did not feel that Rev Johnson was right for the church and left. Rev Johnson has been married to his wife, Sherita, for 24 years and they have two children: 18 year old Alvin Johnson Jr (AJ) and 16 year old Keisha. . The children were very respectable young adults and were very active in the church. Keisha was a member of the youth choir and AJ was a member of the Young Deacons Organization.

To an outsider, the Johnson’s seem like the perfect family. Of course things aren’t always as they seem. Every family has secrets, and the Johnson’s are no exception. 

REVEREND ALVIN JOHNSON

“I don’t care how you do it! Just deliver it! You’re not getting paid until I get confirmation!” the Reverend said as he hung up his cell phone and threw it on the table.

“What’s wrong, dear?” his wife asked.

“Nothing. Everything is fine.”

In reality, everything is NOT fine. Reverend Johnson has been hiding a secret from his wife for the duration of his marriage and he wasn’t sure how long he could hold out. As a man of God, he often struggled with the fact that he wasn’t being honest with his wife, or with himself for that matter. Sometimes he wondered how different his life would be if he hadn’t married his wife so early. He wondered what his life would be like if he wasn’t a preacher. He enjoyed the luxuries of his job, and the chance to interact with dozens of people on a daily basis, but he was leading a double life and he couldn’t continue the charade much longer.

SHERITA JOHNSON

“Oooh baby that’s my spot. Keep going...harder...harder...ooooohhhhh”

Sherita’s eyes rolled into the back of her head as she reached her third orgasm. The man climaxed shortly thereafter, and the couple rinsed off in the shower.

Sherita is a devoted wife and mother. She has a hot meal ready for her husband when he walks in the door. She communicates with her children, helps them with their homework, and shows them unconditional love and support. She appears to be a wholesome and dedicated first lady. She is heavily involved in church programs and always has a kind word for the congregation.

Unfortunately, her husband is rarely home. He’s always out of town on ‘church business’ and when he’s at home its as if he’s in another world. They have been married for awhile, but lately it seems as if their relationship is suffering. Her husband always seems to have something on his mind, but he never wants to talk. And he hasn’t been meeting her ‘sexual needs’ lately either. And as the saying goes, what one man won’t do another one will. 

ALVIN JOHNSON JR

Alvin Johnson Jr is every woman’s dream. He’s a star basketball player with college prospects, he’s about 6’1 with an athletic body and handsome face, and he has the dick from heaven. He recently graduated from Marietta High School outside of Atlanta and decided to follow his family to North Carolina and accept a full basketball scholarship to Wake Forest instead of attending Georgia Tech. 

He is heavily involved in the church. He works with the children and is a member of the Young Deacons Organization, led by Deacon William Thomas. AJ has been interested in ministry since he was young and hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps by leading his own congregation. For now, his main focus is playing basketball, working with the youth, and studying architecture at Wake Forest.

KEISHA JOHNSON

Keisha has always been a straight A student. The simple thought of making a ‘B’ in any one of her honors classes makes her sick. She is currently ranked number 2 in her high school class and is on track to graduate one year early. She is a skilled volleyball player and has scholarship offers from Penn State, Texas, and Clemson. She is a member of the choir and has a voice that would give Beyonce a run for her money. Yes, she’s THAT good. She also helps her mother maintain the home, and is involved with various church organizations. With all of her extracurricular activities it’s hard to imagine her having time to participate in any unholy activities.

In fact, her family seldom questions her whereabouts when she comes home past curfew. They just assume that she’s out with friends or participating in a school or church function.

Yes the Johnson’s are a holy family filled with deep, dark secrets that threaten to tear their world apart, along with the small town surrounding it. Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church has seen its share of ups and downs, but is definitely not prepared for the Johnson family.
